The entire internal environment is cleared, and spaces are prepared for quiet reading, reflection, and feedback. Soft music plays as students move about the different spaces, reading and commenting on one another’s work. Afterwards, there is a busy buzzing, as students excitedly read peer feedback on their own work. It’s a powerful moment for understanding that we write for ourselves, but we also write for an audience.
