Our campuses sit on the tree-lined streets of north and south Austin. They include working kitchens, an apiary, gardens, and cottages that feel like home. For sixty years, these have served as the backdrop of childhood memories for our Austin community.
Set on quiet residential streets in south Austin. Our Children's House cottages, Elementary communities, school library, and the administrative office sit around a large communal garden. Winding paths and herb beds connect classrooms and community.

Our north Austin campus is a community of toddler and primary year classrooms. Thoughtfully designed environments where peaceful days and childhood unfold among low shelves, kitchens, and intentionally planned outdoor spaces.

The Center for Work and Study. Three and a half acres of working land, a market garden, chicken coop, apiary, water collection system, vermaculture, studio, sculpting deck, kitchen, walking trail, pond, and a wildflower field. Our adolescents move between study and occupation, between mathematics and the chickens. The land itself is part of the curriculum.

Maria Montessori observed that children grow through four distinct developmental planes, each with its own work, each asking for its own environment.
A toddler should not be educated in a space designed for elementary children. An adolescent constructing a social identity needs land and real occupations, not just a desk. The shape of the campus has to match the shape of the child.
So we built three. Each campus serves the developmental planes it is built for.
The pathways from AMS lead our graduates on to a wide range of high schools and colleges, in Austin and across the country, and to the arts, the sciences, the service academies, and enterprises of their own. Above all, they leave determined to find their own way to contribute. That is the outcome we work for.
